Ideal for beginners and people who have taken part in free diving courses

The 2 day course will give you opportunity to dive in some beautiful parts of North Wales. Spearfishing  is an exhilarating experience offering those partaking a view of the oceans you do not see from the shore. This sustainable method of fishing/foraging in our UK waters ensures that the catch is not only species specific but its legal size before catching, causing no unnecessary harm or stress. The course will give participants opportunity to learn free-diving and spearfishing disciplines and improve on breath hold techniques. 

2 Day Spearfishing Course – Various Locations across north wales

Core elements of course :

• Introduction to safety awareness & theory
• What you may see - Recognition of species - Legal sizes - bylaws
• Breath hold techniques 
• Dive Technique Training
• Handling your speargun safely, loading unloading
• Rig setup and recommendations
• Opportunity to observe and collect crustaceans such as crabs. lobsters, molluscs and seaweed as well as spearfishing
• Understanding of currents and tides
• Hunting skills to help you get your catch

How the days will look :

• 9:30 am                           Welcome and introduction.

• 10:00 am - 12:00  pm      Safety, theory, your equipment and setup, dive techniques.

• 12:00 p.m - 12:30 pm      LUNCH Break 

• 12:30 p.m - 14:30 pm      IN THE WATER-Looking for crustaceans and stalking fish who knows you may even get a catch. 

• 14:30 p.m - 15:00 pm      BACK ON DRY LAND - Hot cuppa tea 

  ***the second day will will cover a second location and cover more advanced techniques and give you more time in the sea dependant on progress of the first day***

  Equipment Needed:

  You will only be required to bring a towel, swimming attire and snacks.

  What we can provide:

  Wet suit, booties, gloves

  Diving Fins

  Speargun

  Weights and weight belt

  Mask and snorkel

  Safety Buoy and dive line

  Catch bag

You are welcome to bring your own equipment, if not there is a £50 charge needed for the hire of all above.
